What we have been doing is planting a lot of things, vegetables and trees. We like to go green so that is why we are planting trees and our school is made out of recycled things.

Did You Know About Trees
Author: Taylor

Did you know that the environment needs trees so that they can produce food? If we don’t plant trees there will be no way to produce food. Things that we use like paper and pencils are made from trees also if you keep tearing down trees you will kill the environment. Troop 4223 is going to plant trees March 27th so there will be more trees.

The Green Rainbow

What the juniors are doing on March 27th. The Junior Girl Scouts are planting trees. This will be good because it will help the environment. Trees will help us breath.
How to go green! Plant trees, flowers and grass. Do not litter. Recycle. Don’t leave the lights on when you leave for school.

Rainbow Daily 4223
Author: Katie

New News: This Saturday the juniors will be planting 1000 trees. I am actually not coming. I don’t feel like it anyway. This is for the juniors who haven’t earned their bronze award. There are the 4th graders. Samantha and I earned ours last year.
Ways to help the environment: Recycle, don’t waste paper, plant trees, reuse water, ride bikes, don’t use cars too much, save trees, don’t litter, don’t leave the lights on when you aren’t using them.

December 2009

Wow! It's hard to believe it is December already! The girls have requested more meetings....and I have too. So, beginning with December, we will meet December 7, 14, and 21. The ceremonies the girls were working on will be held Dec. 7th with our meeting. They will also receive some badges and fundraiser awards from me at that time. Our December 14th meeting will be solely for the Rainbow Cluster Holiday Service Project. This is the second year I have organized this. the girls will be putting together fruit baskets for Coatesville Area Meals on Wheels. This project is with all of the Rainbow School Girl Scouts. Dec. 21st we will be having a Christmas Party at Miss Cindy's house. The girls will need to bring a wrapped gift spending no more than $10 and we will have fun exchanging them. Also could each girl bring a dozen cookies to share! Before we know it, it will be 2010!

What's going on in October

Right now we are working on the badge....Girl Scouts in the USA. The girls brought home a packet of papers to help them complete most of this at home. We voted on our troop crest and the girls decided on "Musical Notes." We also divided into 2 Patrols....The Sparkling Dolphins and ??? Patrol 2 has not decided on a name yet. Patrol Leaders will be installed at our first November meeting!

**Please remember that the girls are encouraged to work on badges on their own time. We will earn some together as a troop, but the majority the girls should be working on independently. If any help is needed please feel free to contact Miss Cindy.

**The Sock Hop is coming up....Nov. 6th This is a family event. The cost is $15 per family and the money and permission form are due at our next meeting Oct. 26th.
